New artwork is up at Gardnerville’s favorite café – DST Coffee. Come enjoy the café’s beverages and food. Find your favorite photograph and claim it as yours. From nearly 40 matted photographs to ten large, framed ones, you’re bound to see something you love.

Mark’s Dad gave him his first camera when he was eight - a Clickomatic. “I’d lay at the bottom of trees or walk around the Trinity River’s edge and take photos.”

“One of the things my first camera did was to make me appreciate black and white photography. I love things that are in some state of decay. In Kauai, it was the sugar cane factory. Over the past ten years, I’ve loved photographing storms in black and white as they gather throughout our beautiful Carson Valley.”

Mark moved to publishing, advertising, and design in his early 20’s. His love of macro photography led him to capture images throughout the Santa Cruz area, Kauai, and Mexico.

He started Piper’s Vision Marketing and Design in San Jose, CA, and OutNow Newsmagazine. “Having an ad agency and a full color magazine were my dreams as I worked in sales and marketing management in the weekly newspaper industry for years. I’m blessed to have had those dreams come true.” Mark served as a photographer and art director for photoshoots at restaurants, performing arts organizations and real estate.

The artist loves learning. With every outing, he learns something more about how to capture moments and images. From show to show, he’s learning from his experiences but – especially now – from more experienced artists.

Drop by DST Coffee; enjoy coffee, tea, ice cream, pastries, and light food o1fferings; and enjoy Mark’s photography today. “DST Coffee is my home away from home. Amanda and Jake provide a place for lively conversation or just some quiet time to recharge. One of the things I love about DST Coffee is that everyone is welcome.”

DST Coffee is at 1411 Main Street (Highway 395), Gardnerville, NV 89410.

Hours: Monday – Saturday 7:00am – 6:00pm; Sunday 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Mark also has pieces up at the Winter Show of the Nevada Artists Association through March 22nd. The gallery is at the Brewery Arts Center at 449 King Street, Carson City, NV. 775.882.6411. “Please come in and enjoy a wide variety of highly talented artists with works on display.”

Hours: Tuesday through Sunday 12 Noon to 4:00pm.
